I had a thought about something over the weekend (17 hours of alone time will do that to a person).

The church is against gay marriages because it goes against what the bible says. But what I don't get is this: God created man*. God created man's attitudes and all their little quirks. Therefore, by default, God created gays (and everything between gay and straight). Sooooooooooooo....if God made people gay, why is it "wrong" in the eye of the church?

*man being a general term for human beings (PI, I know...but too bad)

Again, Christianity is very closed-minded. I think that is my biggest argument with the religion. Not gays, not pain and suffering (which is belief of Pandora's Box), etc. It's just the entire closed-mindedness of the religion in general. That is my bout with it.

My faith isn't wishy-washy. I have my morals and beliefs but many of them are in contradiction to Christianity. Why do you think I oppose so much of that religion in general?

And, everything will be ok. everything is a loop. Look at the Crusades. Look at the Civil Wars. Look at the bombing of WTC. Look at the wrongings of what we are doing in Iraq. Look at everything. It's a loop and it will keep happening.

There is no such thing as pure so why do you work so hard to attain a purity that is impossible to reach? Oh, I sinned. Let me ask god for forgiveness. Oh, i got it because I didn't murder someone. That means, if you sin you will automatically get forgiven. That doesn't make any sense! Also, by sin, i'm using it as in Christian beliefs, because in my belief, there is no such meaning to that word.

god is just a fabrication of the conscience for those whom are not strong enough to help themselves. For those whom are unwillingly to test themselves to the challenge of life and all its properties.

If I had known my post was going to get this much publicity, I could have added the disclaimer that I have NO problem with people believing in different religions or variations of a religion. I am intrigued by many of them. My problem comes when someone tries to push their beliefs on me, an dintrudes in my personal space and wastes my time to try and 'set me on the right track'.

Oh, in my posts there is a secret (in my opinion) underlined in all of them. I wasn't trying to push my beliefs on you, and I don't think any of my posts did that. I wasn't intending that at least.

It's an unspoken disclaimer that venturing into someone else's journal could potentially expose you to something you may not like.

The closed-mindedness comes from the "beliefs" that you are right and everyone else is wrong and are going to rot in hell for eternity.

They are NOT stereotypes because I have WITNESSED them and LIVED them (and been annoyed by them).

My views and beliefs are not based without evidence. I have EXPERIENCED said actions and thoughts and beliefs. And from THOSE experiences I am entitled to develope MY OWN opinions and beliefs.

Hey. I stated my opnions in my own personal space. You came here and read it. That was your choice, not mine.

I may have made false statements, but you have yet to make a statement that has changed my mind. In fact, you have solidified my decisions.

Yet, there is no such thing as false because no one has lived through those times and cannot tell you what is true, or what is false.

Exactly.

It's sad that some people just can't see that.

What did the opening of Pandora's Box reveal?

god is a myth. the bible could have been written by a playwright. everything written in there could be acts from a fantasical play, right?
