Need some help/opinions

I'm looking into getting either Rock Band or Band Hero for Wii (birthday's coming up).

Does anyone have any experience with either or both? I'm torn on which would be "better", and what the differences are between them.

Rock Band. Band Hero seems more...famiy-oriented.

The cool thing about Band Hero is that we can mess with it with the DS through the Wii.

eh. that wouldn't necessarily be a selling point for me.

here's a thought: look at the song catalog for both. pick the one that appeals to you.

Does Rock back do guitar, base, drums, and mic? No matter what web site I go to, I can't get a straight answer on the dang thing.

yes...it also works with GH2 guitars.

Problem is, I have Guitar Hero 2 for PS2...not Wii, unfortunately.
