(no subject)

I'm exhausted.

Up at 7 this morning, off to Lowe's and Walmart by 8. At the house at 10. Home at 8. 10 hours. UGH

Today: Living room is painted (both parts). Programmable thermostat installed (and works!). New dead bolt installed on front door. Kitchen cabinets are partially stripped. Basement is half cleaned.

Tomorrow: basement gets hosed down and scrubbed with bleach (there was a cat, so there's no telling where it pissed and shat, so we're bleaching it all to get a fresh start). Bedrooms will hopefully be painted. Hopefully new dead bolt will be installed in the side door (the main door).

Soon, sleep.

Damn man! You guys aren't messing around! LOL! Rock on!

When do you actually move in and call the house "home"? :)

It helped that both my parents, and Kim's mom and dad were both there to help.

We're hoping to actually move in the middle of December. Next weekend we tackle the floors. Kim's sister's bf's cousin can get us a sander for free for the long weekend.

New locks were first on our list too. Probably unnecessary, but you never know who the previous owner gave spare keys to.

That and a new toilet seat. Just a thing of mine. I like to know who's butt has been there in my home. LOL!!

A new toilet seat is definitely on the list, for sure.

Heh. I am going to do some serious work on my basement this winter, I hope. It isn't the most useful space as it only has just over 6'2 of headroom. I will however patch a few spots in the floor and repaint all the walls.

Once we get moved in, I'm not really sure what we're going to do first.

You certainly have your homeowner hat on! Wow, that's a long day.

If the bleach doesn't take care of everything in the basement to your satisfaction, take a trip to PetSmart or other big chain pet supply store and pick up some Nature's Miracle. It's an enzyme that eats up stains and odor. There's even a formula made specially for cat problems.

Fortunately, there weren't any smells. Just wanted to make sure things were clean.
