A trained monkey could do better than these idiots.

I'm currently taking an online class (General Chemistry). One option for the class text is an ebook through Houghton-Mifflin, for $100 less than an actual book. Seems like a great deal, right up until I try downloading the book.

Shit. I need Adobe Digital Editions FIRST, before downloading the book. Get a new passkey from H-M.

Try to download Digital Editions again. No go. It's showing that I've already downloaded it and there's no option to try again.

FUCK.

Call up Adobe customer service. They don't know what to do and tell me to call tech support.

Damnit. Tech support is only open until 5pm PST, and it's already 10 EST.

Tuesday, I can't call because I'm in class.

Wednesday, call tech support. Tech support guy doesn't know his ass from a hole in the wall and TELLS ME TO GOOGLE FOR THE PROGRAM. Yes, Adobe's tech support told me to google for the program. *face palm* Are you fucking kidding me?!

I'm calling the book company this morning to try to get my money back so I can just go buy the actual book. DAMNIT.

Oh, and to top it all off? I discover Monday night that my internet no longer works! Go to Time Warner Tuesday at lunch for a new modem. Get it hooked up, LAN works, but still no wireless.

FUCK! My router's dead!

NOW, I have to go to Best Buy at lunch and drop the $100 I was going to spend on a new cell phone (my new every 2 is up, and I hate my phone) on a new router. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

Life is just grand!

Not to point and laugh, but this bit made me chuckle:
Adobe's tech support told me to google for the program. *face palm* Are you fucking kidding me?!

Hopefully you get everything taken care of! It's so furstrating when you can't do something you want/need to because of someone else's screw-ups. Good luck!

Now I think I'm going to have to fight with the book company to get my money back. "Once you download and view a book, it can't be returned" was what the customer service rep told me. "BUT I HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO VIEW THE BOOK". Idiots.

Meh. I worked in customer service for 3 years. Ask to talk with the manager. Ask them for an email, and send a screen shot of it not working. I can't speak for Adobe, but generally if you push hard enough, CS will refund your money rather than have you cause a big stink.
