Oct. 22nd, 2007 09:48 amKim and I are home from our trip to Vermont.
Story
Thursday
-We left bright and early in the morning (on the other of 5:30am). Stopped in Canandaigua to drop off Kim's car for her cousin to work on it.
-Got into Vermont around 12:30, had lunch, and met up with Ian.
-Ian coaches 7th grade soccer, and he had a game in the next town over, so we caught a ride on the bus with him (driven by him) to the game. It was pretty fun. I miss playing high school sports
-Grabbed dinner at The Alchemist with Ian and Amberley when she got home and generally hung out until around midnight (recurring theme here).
Friday
-Slept until about 10. Wandered around the apartment for a bit.
-Amberley had to staff a field hockey game, so Ian, Kim, and I headed up to the Rock Art brewery for shits and grins then stopped by the Boyden Valley Winery for a tasting. I'm not a big fan of wine, so tastings are always an experience for me. We ended up buying bottles of Glogg, Gold Leaf, and Blueberry wines. They were quite good. The wines they had were rather sweet, and even their dry wines weren't all that dry (I hate dry wines).
-Headed back to Ian's to pick up Amberley and headed out to dinner.
-Came home and had some wine and played Don't Quote Me until around midnight when we called it a day.
Saturday
-Slept in until about 9:30. Kim and I got up, showered, and headed to the Cold Hollow Cider Mill to shop around (they have really good jellies and mustards and such).
-Stopped at a Cabot store to taste some cheeses and such. Ended up buying maple spread and a couple sampler packs of maple syrup (4 different grades).
-Went back to Ian's, hung out, then headed out with Amberley to the Shelburne Museum where we spent most of the day. This was truly and awesome museum.
-Left Shelburne Museum and swung by the Magic Hat brewery to try some beers, and just for fun. If you ever have a chance to go, do so...it's an experience.
-Met Ian in Bristol, VT at the Bobcat Cafe for dinner.
-Headed back to the apartment and hung out.
-Called it a night around 12.
Sunday
-Very low key day. Had blueberry pancakes for breakfast, washed our trucks, and headed on home.
6 hours later, we were in our own apartment eating Chinese we picked up on the way home.

In other news
I got a call Saturday night, before we headed out for dinner (while I still had cell service), from my sister informing me that come June, I'm going to be an uncle.
*head explodes*
We sure sound like alcoholics.
