Kim Update

I haven't updated because there hasn't been TOO much to update on.

Friday
-Met with the surgeon. Nice guy. He ordered some blood work to see where things were at.
-Found out some more details on the CT scan that she had the previous Friday. It turns out that her common duct was about 8mm in diameter when it's SUPPOSED to be 3-4mm. This tells the doc that either a) she has a stuck gall stone, or b) she just passed a stuck stone. Doc orders MRCP to see where things are at.

Tuesday
-Kim went in for the MRCP this morning. No results yet. The radiologist has to look at it, then talk to the surgen about it. Answers forthcoming.
-While Kim was having the MRCP the surgeon called back about the blood test. Found out today that it came back normal (there were a couple things the past couple times that were a bit off).

We still don't know when the surgery will be. The results of the MRCP will dictate how soon they'll operate. If they find a stone in the common duct, she'll have to see an endocronologist to have the stone removed before having her gall bladder removed. If there's NOT a stone, then she has the gall bladder removed ASAP. We've got our fingers crossed for it to be out at the end of the week, but we'll see what today tells us.

Oh, poor Kim. She probably feels like somebody's science fair project after all that. What did she hear today?
