she's American now...and she would be harassed for an odd name as a child.
not that it matters, as her parents chose her name and that's what she will bear until death, or until she chooses to change it. complaining about it, however, is...uncouth. be happy this child now has loving parents and will grow up in a good home, rather than potentially dying in the streets. adoption is a beautiful thing - be happy for that, rather than criticizing the parents on choice of name.
And P.S. I was born an American. I was never harrassed in school or in life because of my name. I think original names are pretty darn unique and should be embraced rather than auto-denied because the parents think the child MAY be harrassed in grade school.
