I just wanted to give everyone an update on my original post regarding my steering head bearings.

I FINALLY got around to mailing out the letter to Yamaha last week, roughly a month after I originally posted about it (I've been wicked busy). Many thanks to those who offered suggestions on changes to make.

I received a call last night just as I was talking in the door from a representative from Yamaha asking for the Vin# of my bike. I found it kind of odd, but obliged. I get a call later that night from the same person telling me that she found no record of me taking the bike to the shop for this problem (duh). I told her that I didn't take it to the shop as the warranty had run out. "oh". She informed me that if I had taken it to the shop, they would have sent a rep out to look at the bearings to determine whether or not something was wrong. I told her that I still had the bearings and that I could take them to the dealer or send them to them to inspect. She told me she'd talk to someone and get back to me.

I'm thinking that they aren't going to do anything about it, but I'm impressed with how quickly I got a response back.
