I swear to god I'm going to end up killing one of those boys.
I guess there's a reason I'm not a teacher.
There's just something missing...a lack of respect for the adults that are in charge.
All night long they run around screaming and yelling and NOT doing what they're supposed to be doing. I wish I could figure out what to do.

Meeting night huh.

I have a friend who got his teaching degree and majored in Biology. He started student teaching and got so frustrated by that he quit it. Now he's a process tech.

The problem was that our scoutmaster is in Vegas right now, so obviously he wasn't there. When the cat's away, the mice will play. I don't know what it takes to get them in line.

I still laugh that I actually got paid to sub at school once. Granted it was only a small group of 6th graders that didn't go on the whale watch. I didn't really have to teach anything, just make sure that no one died.

I think sometimes it's better to let the SPL and PL's have some responsibility in maintaining order if they have the respect of the other scouts.

He tries to. Fortuantely this one is a LOOOOOOT better than the last one. The last one we had did absolutely nothing. He just sits in the corner staring into space.

The problem right now is that we've got Webelos coming in, and they just don't know how things are supposed to work.

Well, hopefully next week goes better. Nothing like a bunch of hyper rambunctious 11 year olds to disrupt a meeting. lol

I don't remember having to get them for scouts. Although we did have to do it for summer camp.

Yeah. It's for summer camp and high adventure type stuff. We just do it as a troop so that everyone is able to go to camp.

Time for him to get on my ass about my blood pressure too!

That's actually a good way to get everyone eligible for camp. Seems we always had someone that forgot to get a physical.

10 & 11 year olds running around would tend to raise the BP. lol

Yeah they do!

It can be tough. They get to playing games, and I want to play too, but I have to be careful, seeing as how I'm an adult. I have to pick and choose what and when I play.

Yeah, I'm sure. That is a fun age though. They are so full of energy.
