What the fuck is up with LJ lately???

It seems that ever since it got bought out, I always get this whole 'comment not posted', 'in read only mode' bullshit. It's really starting to piss me off!

I've been getting that too. It's a PITA. I've also had a lot of trouble posting entries with Semagic. It just never sends the entry and you wait forever.

I'm really glad I'm not paying for LJ right now...otherwise there'd be some heads rolling.

Im glad I wasn't the only one annoyed by this.
I hope it is just a temporary problem.

Me too.
I feel sorry for Dave, since he's paying for this.

Well, at least it's not a lot of $. It's good entertainment and nice to interact with people. Actually by the time I pay LJ and Photobucket it's like $60!

LOL
I'm getting both of those for free. Maybe I'm just cheap. I've thought about paying a bit in to LJ just so I can have more than 3 icons.

Heya! Okay, so, remember a LONG time ago when we were talking about SUVs in the ljcarcommunity or what not? And with school, work, life, and what-not, it took me fucking forever-ish to get back with you?

Well, it just so happens I finished a mini-paper (~8 pages) on a brief deconstruction of the myth of SUVs/the environment. So, if you still wanted to read it, email me through my user-info/LJ and I'll pass that small part along to you. This is more the environmental aspect and doesn't get into safety and use so much as other arguments I've made, but it's a decent starting point if you're still interested.

Anyway...remembered you when I wrote it. Lemme know. :)

-kristenny, who garages an XJ, a YJ, and an RSX-S (since we lemon-lawed the 350Z, which would probably be the vehicle you'd remember of any of them, if at all ;))

Holy shit. I had forgotten about that! Though once in a while I WOULD remember.

A couple of my friends had old CJ's (one ended up selling his to the other's dad).

Oh noooooooo! The Z's gone??? I'm going to cry now.

We test drove a few CJs before we found our YJ - great Jeeps if you can find them in good condition. However, the ones in good condition often run $10k or more...so we stuck with our already-lifted/mudded/modded YJ for less :)

Yes, the Z is gone...*sniffle*...I miss it! But it was getting to be too...miserable. We filed lemon law all three ways you can file (it had been in the shop more than 40 days cumulative, it had 15 major non-conformities/repairs on things that "substantially impaired the use and/or safety of the vechile, and we invoked the 3-strikes rule on the suspension (our last set of front tires had 4500 miles on them and were baby-ass BALD b/c of the suspension issuse). So, it was time.

The '05 RSX-S is no Z, but it *is* pretty damn impressiv for a 4-banger! And it's so cheap we can pay it off in 2 years, so...can't beat that :)

Anyway - I'll put up with your ranting if you put up with mine! ;)

I think the only CJ worth buying is one with a solid frame and a good engine (the engine is debatable...a nice Chevy 350 would work quite nicely). CJ's are old enough and popular enough that you can build one anyway you like with a few months and adequate cash flow (a year or two or more with a less than adequate cash flow). I'm really anti-domestics just because their reliability sucks. BUT...there's always exceptions. Early CJ's and late 60's-early 70's American muscle cars (who can deny the true brute force in these beasts?) just to name the only ones that pop into my head at this time.

Oh, much with the CJ-lovin', but we didn't want something we had to throw a lot of money into since the Z was acting up at the time and our vintage XJ is a marvel of original parts (read: who knows? It could die any day ;)). I feel pretty much the same way about domestics in general, but Jeeps are my exception to the rule - except for Grand Cherokees (horrible reliability and resale) and Liberties (blech...'nuff said). We did have a Ford Escape XLT 4x4, though, and it was a wonderful vehicle - no problems, even for a brand new first-year model ('01). Shitty resale for an SUV, but such is the way of domestics.

Not that I wouldn't an older Camaro or ANY Trans Am/WS6 that fell into my lap, but in general, I meh in the general direction of most 'Murican cars.

Yup.
My dad's '85 vette is quite nice, I must say. Thing's got more balls than I know what to do with (except shred the tires *grin*)
