It's called a pill but it takes a life

In response to the Feb. 23 essay "Morning-after pill is Rx for curtailing abortions," by Linda Stephens:

The morning-after pill may reduce the number of medical abortions, but for those who believe that life begins at conception (which, by the way, science has yet to disprove), it is important to know that the morning-after pill has the potential to prevent a fertilized egg from implanting in its mother's womb, thereby depriving it of the nutrients, blood supply and oxygen it will need to remain alive and develop into a fully recognizable baby.

The medical field distinguishes this from abortion, which destroys the pregnancy after implantation; but either way, a life is lost.
