Kim and I are making candle holders for our mothers for Christmas.
Kim's mom likes boats and lighthouses and stuff, so we're going for a pilon type of look with hers. It's the first two pictures. The 3 stacks will be "tied" together to look like a pilon you'd see around a dock.

Mine is the last one. I took a log and cut a strip off the top so that I can bore holes for tea lights. I'm still not sure on what kind of feet I'm going to use to keep it upright. My latest idea is to take the piece I cut off the end, cut it in half, cut away the profile of it, and attach a half to each end. What do you think?

My other idea was to cut grooves in the bottom and attach a couple piece of a smaller stick/log to act as feet. I like my most recent idea better, but any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Nice Tahou's cup in the background of the 3rd picture. I have a few of those.

They're coming along quite nicely. It took a few days for the one to dry out enough that we could actually work with it (we cut the tree down, and it's still quite green, but workable now).
